As you may have noticed, our newest blogger, Wayne Armour, began posting today. (Welcome, Wayne!) He and his fellow Emergency Services Caseworker, Polly, will be updating us daily with summaries of the latest Red Cross OTC emergency responses. Wayne and Polly regularly keep the staff here informed with emails, but we thought it would be nice to let everyone know what Emergency Services is up to daily. (You’ll likely be surprised – as I was when I first started working here – by the amount of house fire calls each week.)

We’re still working on changing abbreviations and jargon in these summaries so that it makes sense to all our blog readers so please comment if you see a term or acronym you don’t understand.
