In case you don’t live in Portland or are reading this blog while vacationing on some sunny beach in the tropics and aren’t aware of the current weather in Portland…it’s cold! Quite unseasonably. It actually snowed this morning.

So the city has requested that we open the Emergency Warming Centers (currently located at the Estate Hotel (225 NW Couch) and the Mead Building (421 SW 5th Avenue) tonight and tomorrow night. The Emergency Warming Centers provide a place for Portland’s homeless population to stay and keep warm on cold nights. We serve soup, crackers, and coffee. And pets are welcome as well.

For everyone’s sake, I hope the weather starts warming up soon.
