Oregon Blood is Red Cross Blood
Reading Robin’s post about people with tattoos still being able to donate blood prompted me to share something:
97% of all the blood used by Oregonians every year comes from the Red Cross.
Think about it. Every women receiving treatment for breast cancer…every child diagnosed with leukemia…every man or women with HIV/AIDS…every kid rushed to the ER after an accident. If and when any of them needs blood in Oregon, it will be Red Cross blood that helps save their life.
Makes me proud to come to work every day.
But while almost 40% of the public is eligible to donate blood at any given time, only 5% actually do. When was the last time you donated blood? Call 1-800-GIVE LIFE today or sign up online at www.nwblood.redcross.org.

Speaking of tattoos, do you know of anyone who has a Red Cross tattoo? I do:

That’s serious commitment to the mission.
