Disaster Action Team Responses
On Saturday, April 19, at 1:15 AM, 2 families had a fire in their duplex. When Red Cross disaster volunteers arrived, they assisted 4 adults, and 4 children affected by the fire with:
–3 nights stay in a nearby motel.
–A client assistance card to shop for clothing and food.
–Comfort kits for the adults, containing shampoo, razor, soap, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste,
and washcloth.
–Comfort kits for the children, containing shampoo, soap, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, wash
cloth, coloring book and crayons.
–Stuffed animals to comfort the children.
On April 20, 2008 2 adults had a fire in their house in Beaverton. When Red Cross disaster volunteers arrived, they assisted the family by providing:
–A client assistance card to shop for food and clothing.
–Comfort kits for the adults.
