Disastrously Good Weekend Plans
Looking for something to do this weekend? I just found out that the Multnomah County Library is hosting a reading/lecture by William Sullivan who just wrote a book called Oregon’s Greatest Natural Disaters. According to the Powells.com synopsis:
This informative, entertaining book tells the stories of Oregon’s greatest floods, fires, earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions — and then analyzes the cycles behind these events in order to help predict and prepare for future natural disasters. A final, fictional chapter takes a look at what might happen when a major earthquake and tsunami next strike Oregon’s coast.
Sounds fascinating!
Sullivan will be giving two presentations this weekend:
- Saturday, April 26, 2–3 p.m @ the Hillsdale Library
- Sunday, April 27, 12:30–1:30 p.m. @ the Central Library, U.S. Bank Room
