Disaster Action Team Responses
On June 13, 2008 a family in St. Helens had a fire in their house. When the Red Cross disaster volunteers arrived, they assisted the family of 8 by providing:
–3 nights stay in a nearby motel.
–a client assistance card to shop for food and clothing.
–Comfort kits for 2 adults and 6 children. Comfort kits for the adults contains shampoo, soap,
–toothbrush, toothpaste, washcloth, razor and a package of Kleenex
–The comfort kits for the children, instead of the razor, they contain coloring book and crayons.
–Stuffed animals to comfort the children.
On June 14, 2008 a family in Banks had a fire in their house. When the Red Cross disaster volunteers arrived, they assisted the family of 5 by providing:
–2 nights lodging at a nearby motel.
–A client assistance card to shop for clothing.
On June 15, 2008 a family had a single family fire in Portland. When the disaster volunteers arrived the helped the family of 5 with:
–2 nights stay in a nearby motel.
–A client assistance card to shop for food.
On June 16, 2008 a single adult had a fire in their house.
–2 nights stay in a nearby motel.
–A client assistance card to shop for food.
