On Dec. 12, 2008 a family of 1 adult and two teenagers had a fire in Milton-Freewater. The local Red Cross volunteers responders assisted the family with:

–A client assistance card to shop for food and clothing.
–A certificate for a free eye exam and glasses if prescribed.

On Dec. 14, 2008 four adults had a fire in their house in Southeast Portland. The Red Cross volunteers assisted the family with:

–A client assistance card to shop for food and clothing.
–Lodging in a nearby motel.
