Rain, Rain Go Away

Remember last week when it actually felt like Spring for a few days? Ahh… well, while some of us took that opportunity to relax in the sunshine, others saw it as a chance to get to work.

The state led Oregon Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (ORVOAD) was awaiting drier conditions to initiate their Long Term Recovery Assistance in flood soaked communities like Vernonia and Tillamook. For months, Adventist Community Services have managed a Salvation Army warehouse in north Portland, stock piling bedroom, living-room, and other household furnishings. Oregon Trail Chapter volunteers have worked with the other agencies, utilizing the space to organize cots, blankets, foods, and other disaster supplies for placement in these communities.

Here are a few photos of them in action. Good job guys!
