Drinking + Disaster = A Good Meeting Place

I’m going to steal Robin’s story by blogging this, but since she’s out today, I’m left with no choice.

Over the weekend, she was sharing the I’m Red Cross Ready Flickr group idea with friends and suggesting that they get in on the action with something simple — like posting a photo of their designated meeting place, a key part of any disaster plan.

They were stumped for a moment, but then realized that they live right near a local bar. Granted, in certain disasters, even going down the street might not be possible (think floods), but after a house fire, a place with good food and strong drinks might be a perfect fit.

I’m already revising my plan to identify a place that will keep me safe, warm and satiated. How about you? Is there a nearby bar or restaurant that you could use for a meeting place in case of emergency?
