Tonight is another night out for Robin and me, as we’re off to the OCIABC Bronze Beacon awards.

Being competitive by nature, I love going to these types of things, as there’s a good chance I’ll come home a winner. And winning, of course, is everything. (In fact, I’m hoping we’ll take home prizes for the blog at the upcoming PRSA Portland Spotlight Awards and the IABC Pacific Plains Silver Quills. I MAY even be persuded to enter it in PRSA’s national Bronze Anvils, which is a level of competition I’ve never even attempted before.)

Anyway, if the thought of having another award to add to our coffers isn’t enough, tonight’s crowd will also get a chance to hear our fearless leader, Thomas Bruner, give the keynote address. I chatted with Thomas briefly about his comments and I’m pretty sure he’ll knock everyone’s socks off…and not just ‘cuz he’s REALLY LOUD. Honest.

I’m not sure how long they’ll continue to take last minute registrations, but this might tempt you into coming…the menu includes assorted crostini, Guinness braised meatballs, fresh fruit salad, Hibernian green salad, pecan encrusted salmon, Bailey’s cheesecake and Guinness dark chocolate cake.

Not only does it sound delicious, remember that a portion of proceeds come straight back to the Oregon Trail Chapter!
