Disaster Action Team Responses

On Oct. 4, a family had a fire in their house, in Fairview. The family of 3 adults, 1 child and 1 infant needed a place to sleep, food, and clothing. When the volunteers arrived they assisted the family with:

–2 nights in a nearby motel.
–A client assistance card to shop for food and clothing.
–Follow up by a nurse for possible medication needs.
–Adult comfort kits containing shampoo, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, Kleenex, razor,
and washcloth.
–Child Comfort Kits containing shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, Kleenex, comb, washcloth,
crayons and a coloring book.
–Stuffed animals to comfort the infant and child.
