Anyhow, if you — like me — enjoy sending texts to friends, enemies, frenemies or whomever, I’d encourage you to start using the power of your fingertips for good.
One way to do this is via the Text 2HELP program, which has just been extended until December 31 — two months past the original end date. Created by VeriSign, the Wireless Foundation and the Red Cross, Text 2HELP enables subscribers of participating wireless carriers to donate $5, up to five times, simply by texting the word “GIVE” to 24357 (2HELP). Donations support the Disaster Relief Fund.
So after you’ve paid your phone bill for the month, consider taking just five little dollars and giving them to the Red Cross. You’re already texting…why not do good at the same time?
