Not often since my college days have I pulled all-nighters, but I will tonight. I’m preparing to work an overnight shift (8:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.) on the 13th – and final – consecutive night of our Emergency Warming Center operations.

This has been an heroic, volunteer-driven response to the worst winter storm to hit the metro area in 40 years. I’m proud of the work of our long-term and new volunteers, and of our staff, who’ve risen to the challenge.
