I’m one of those horrible people who hits “Ignore” whenever someone sends me a Christmas tree or a little green plant or Superpokes me on Facebook. I like writing on people’s walls and updating my status, but I’m just not into the “gifts.”

Until now.

That’s because, from now through Sunday, you can send a special American Red Cross virtual gift of an emergency meal (500 credits) or a t-shirt (1,000 credits) via the Facebook Gift Shop.

Essentially, when you purchase one of these “gifts,” the the full amount (minus 50 credits to cover transactional fees) will go to the Red Cross to support our efforts. That translates to about $5 and $10, respectively.
