Slideshow: Starlight Parade

As I mentioned last week, the Red Cross participated in the Rose Festival Starlight Parade this past Saturday 5/30. We weren’t just at the parade, we lit up the night! Wearing Red Cross vintage uniforms and t-shirts, Red Cross staff and volunteers waved to Portlanders from a brightly illuminated Red Cross-themed float. Not to brag or anything, but we looked really good.

One reason we love to be in the Starlight Parade is because it gives us a great opportunity to thank the community that we serve. The Red Cross is grateful for your generous donations of money, time, and blood. Thank you!

Check out a slideshow of the parade below. Notice our friend Tom (a.k.a. Blue Steel) modeling an amazing 70s Disaster Relief jumpsuit. Totally fierce.

Click here to see video footage from KGW of our flashy float. The Red Cross is shown at about 2:04.
