HUNGARY: The Hungarian Red Cross has mobilized a team of 50 volunteers to assist evacuees after a serious industrial accident near the village of Kolontár. They’re also setting up temporary shelters and delivering mineral water, food, camp beds and blankets to the worst-affected settlements.
CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC/SUDAN: With the help of the ICRC, seven children have rejoined their families after escaping violence.
PAKISTAN: After the massive flooding, 37 National Societies in the Red Cross/Red Crescent global network have been working with the IFRC to support the Pakistan Red Crescent Society in providing relief items and shelter for nearly one million people. This week, the IFRC announced plans for a second round of relief aid distribution.
YEMEN: The fighting that erupted recently in southern Yemen has forced thousands out of their homes. In the north of the country, thousands more remain dependent on humanitarian aid. The ICRC is working with the Yemen Red Crescent Society to supply urgently needed assistance.
