Russert’s Death Serves as Sad Reminder

Did you hear that Tim Russert of NBC’s Meet the Press just died of a heart attack at the age of 58? And that he collapsed right on the job in the NBC studios?

Though the news is sad, Russert’s death serves as an important reminder that emergencies can happen any time and anywhere. In a workplace, it’s important to always have an AED nearby and employees trained in how to use it. Employees should also be up-to-date on their CPR skills.

Now this isn’t to say that any of this would have made a difference for Tim…it might not have. But it certainly makes you think. And I’d bet that in the coming months, NBC starts adding more training for their staff.
