On Monday, July 7, 2008 3 families had a fire in their apartment in Portland. When Red Cross disaster volunteers arrived, they assisted 5 adults and 3 children with:

–3 nights lodging in a nearby motel.
–A client assistance card to shop for food and clothing.
–Stuffed animals to comfort the children.
–Comfort kits containing shampoo, comb, razor, toothbrush, toothpaste and package of
Kleenex for the adults.
–Comfort kits containing, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, coloring book and
crayons for the children.
