2009 Hurricane Names Revealed!
Joaquin Phoenix. Henri Dunant. Rose Trullinger. My dad, Fred Harwin. There’s a theme going here — can you figure it out?
Admittedly, this is a tough one. Here’s the scoop — all of these people are likely to have their first names immortalized during the 2009 tropical storm/hurricane season.
From Ana to Wanda (Atlantic) and Andres to Zelda (Eastern North Pacific), these are the names you’ll be hearing bandied about on The Weather Channel. With any luck, they’ll all be minor and we won’t even make it anywhere near the Victors and Xinas and Yorks.
And, just for the record, there was indeed a Hurricane Lisa (spelled incorrectly, obviously) back in 2004. There has never been a Hurricane (or Tropical Storm) Robin, but there was a Hurricane Tara in 1961 AND a Tropical Storm Tara in both 1968 and 1982.
Tell us, would YOU want your name to be immortalized on a force of nature? Would it make a difference if it led to a large-scale disaster? Check out more on the Katrina naming trend here.

I'm a hurricane AND a tropical storm?! I had no idea. I wonder if they pronouced them "Terra" (like my name) or "Tar-uh" (like NOT my name, which some people around here need to figure out). I'll let my mom know that Hurricane Rose could be on the horizon.
Thanks for sharing…
