LOCAL RED CROSS RESPONDS TO 52 DISASTERS IN PAST MONTH

 The American Red Cross Cascades Region (Oregon and
Southwest Washington) responds to an average of two disasters every day. We
provide hope and comfort to people affected by home fires, floods, wildfires and
other disasters, helping victims anywhere and anytime.



Between June 1
and June 30, the local Red Cross responded to 52 disasters (specific response
locations listed in the attached document) and helped to address the needs of
people affected by these disasters in communities spanning from Vancouver, WA to
Medford, OR (north to south) and Newport, WA to Elgin, OR (west to east). The
Red Cross provided disaster assistance, such as temporary housing, food,
clothing, comfort kits, information about recovery services, and health and
mental health services for each of the incidents.

  1. June 1, at around 3:45 a.m., in the 4800 block of Lancaster
    Drive in Salem, Marion County, OR. This single-family fire affected one adult.
  2. June 1, at around 7:45 p.m., in the 2000 block of E. 2nd
    Street in Newberg, Yamhill County, OR. This multi-family fire affected three
    adults.
  3. June 1, at around 10 p.m., in the 100 block of N. College
    Street in Monmouth, Polk County, OR. This single-family fire affected two
    adults.
  4. June 3, at around 2:50 a.m., in the 1500 block of Garfield
    Street in North Bend, Coos County, OR. This fire affected four adults and one
    pet.
  5. June 3, 2016 at around 10 p.m., in the 3400 block of Corey
    Road in Central Point, Jackson County, OR. This multi-family fire affected two
    adults.
  6. June 5, at around 3 a.m., in the 4000 of NE Jarrett Street
    in Portland, Multnomah County, OR. This single-family fire affected three adults
    and two children.
  7. June 5, at around 12 noon, in the 88000 block of Poodle
    Creek Rd, in Noti, Lane County, OR.  This single-family fire affected two
    adults and two pets. 
  8. June 5, at around 1:30 p.m., in the 4400 block of Leif
    Erikson Drive in Astoria, Clatsop County, OR. This single family fire affected
    one adult and several pets.
  9. June 6, at around 5 p.m., to the 200 block of Branton Street
    in Sutherlin, Douglas County, OR. This single-family fire affected two adults.
  10. June 6, at around 6:30 p.m., to the 400 block of 16th Street
    in Elgin, Union County, OR. This single-family fire affected two adults and
    seven dogs.
  11. June 12, at around 2 p.m., in the 100 block of Modrow Road
    in Kalama, Cowlitz County, WA. This multi-family fire affected six people,
    including five adults and one child.
  12. June 13, at around 12 a.m., in the 26000 block of NE 3rd
    Street, Camas, Clark County, WA. This single-family fire affected four people,
    including two adults, two children and 1 pet.
  13. Jun 12, at 5 p.m., in the 1200 block of South Main Street in
    Milton-Freewater, OR, Umatilla County. This single-family fire affected four
    adults and two children.
  14. June 13, at 12 p.m., in the 500 block of 22nd Avenue in
    Albany, OR, Linn County. This single family fire affected two adults.
  15. June 15, at 2 a.m., in the 40000 block of Mowitch St. in
    Lyons, OR, Linn County. This single family fire affected five adults, three
    children and one dog.
  16. June 15, at approximately 3 p.m., in the 200 block of West
    Court St in Goldendale, WA, Klickitat County. This single family fire affected
    one adult and one child.
  17. June 15, at approximately 7:15 p.m., in the 30000 block of
    SW Laurelwood in Gaston, OR, Washington County. This single-family fire
    affected two adults and two pets.
  18. June 16, in the 00 block of Halsey Road in Astoria, OR,
    Clatsop County. This multi-family fire affected one adult.
  19. June 17, at 2:30 p.m., in the 12000 block of SW 124th Avenue
    in Tigard, OR. This multi-family fire affected two adults.
  20. June 17, at 4 p.m., on Raspberry Lane in Milton-Freewater,
    OR, Umatilla County. This single-family fire affected one adult.
  21. June 18, at approximately 2 a.m., in the 2000 block of Otis
    Loop in Warm Springs, OR, Jefferson County. This single family fire affected
    four adults.
  22. June 18, at 7:30 p.m., in the 4000 block of State St. in
    Salem, Marion County. This multi-family fire affected ten adults and one child.
  23. June 20, at 5 a.m., in the 9000 block of Tyler Avenue in
    Portland, OR, Multnomah County. This multi-family fire affected four adults.
  24. June 20, at approximately 7 a.m., in the 400 block of 6th
    Street in Newport, OR, Lincoln County. This single family fire affected one
    adult.
  25. June 20, at 3 p.m., on Raspberry Lane in Milton Freewater,
    OR, Umatilla County.  This multi-family fire affected two adults.
  26. June 20, at 2:30 pm, in the 700 block of NE Stephens in
    Roseburg, OR, Douglas County.  This Single family fire affected two
    adults.  
  27. June 21, at 4 p.m., in the 2800 block of 18th Avenue in
    Forest Grove, Washington County. This single-family fire affected two adults
    and one pet.
  28. June 22, at 3:45 a.m., in the 2000 block of Stockel Ct.
    Medford, OR, Jackson County. This single family fire affected two adults, one
    child, and one pet.
  29. June 22, at 2:30 p.m., on Touchstone in Lake Oswego, OR,
    Clackamas County. This multi-family fire affected 13 adults, one child and four
    dogs. 
  30. June 22, at 9 p.m., in the 400 block of SE Sheridan Road,
    Sheridan OR, Yamhill County. This multi-family gas leak affected 35 individuals.
  31. June 23, at 1:30 a.m., in the 3600  block of Hwy 97 in
    Klamath Falls, OR, Klamath County.  This multi-family fire affected
    three adults and three children. 
  32. June 23, at 2 p.m., in the 00 block of 3rd Street W in
    Tillamook, OR, Tillamook County. This single-family fire affected one adult and
    multiple pets.
  33. June 23rd, at 2 p.m., in the 600 block of NW 139th Street in
    Vancouver, WA, Clark County. This single family fire affected one adult and two
    pets.
  34. June 24, at 11:00, in the 53000 block of Holiday Drive in La
    Pine, OR, Deschutes County. This multi-family fire affected three adults.
  35. June 24, at 6 p.m., on 103rd and Martins in Portland, OR,
    Multnomah County. This single-family fire affected one adult.
  36. June 24, at 9 p.m., in the 2300 block of Colstin Rd in
    Ashland, OR, Jackson County. This single family fire affected one adult and one
    pet.
  37. June 24, at 2:30 p.m., in the 400 block of N. 7th
    Ave in Kelso, WA, Cowlitz County. This single-family fire affected two
    adults. 
  38. June 25th, at approximately 2 p.m., in the 9000 block of
    Main Street in Langlois, OR, Curry County. This single family fire affected two
    adults.
  39. June 25th, 2016 at approximately 2 p.m., in the 900 block of
    W 16th Street in Vancouver, WA, Clark County. This multi-family fire affected
    11 adults and 20 pets.
  40. June 25th, at approximately 2 p.m., in the 2000 block of
    Colstine Road in Ashland, OR, Jackson County. This multi-family fire affected
    two adults and one pet.
  41. June 26, 1:30 a.m., in the 1000 block of NE Churchill Rd in
    Grants Pass, OR, Josephine County. This single family fire affected one adult,
    three children and one pet.
  42. June 26, at 12 p.m., in the 200 block of West Lynn Road in
    Eagle Point, OR, Jackson County. This multi-family fire affected five adults
    and three children. 
  43. June 26, at 10:30 p.m., in the 400 block of Gray Cliffs
    Court in Saint Helens, OR, Columbia County. This single family fire affected
    two adults.
  44. June 27, at approximately 2 p.m., in the 900 block of W.
    16th Street in Vancouver, WA, Clark County. This multi-family fire affected two
    adults.
  45. June 28, at 5 p.m., in the 54600 block of Beach Loop Road in
    Bandon, OR, Coos County. This single family fire affected two adults, one child
    and one pet.
  46. June 28, at 4:30 p.m., in the 97000 block of Lincoln Avenue
    in Vernonia, OR. This emergency affected two adults and three children. 
  47. June 28, at 9:30 p.m., in the 4500 block of Addy Street in
    Washougal, WA, Clark County. This single family fire affected two adults, three
    children and five pets.
  48. June 20, at 5:25 a.m., in the 200 block of Teel Lane in
    Grants Pass, OR, Josephine County. This single family fire affected one adult
    and two children.
  49. June 29, at approximately 1 p.m., on 96th avenue in
    Portland, OR, Multnomah County. This single family fire affected two adults.
  50. June 29, at 5:30 p.m., in the 11000 block of NE 4th Street
    in Vancouver, WA, Clark County. This incident affected two adults and two pets.
  51. June 30, at 4:30am, in the 20800 block of NE North Valley
    Road in Newberg, OR, Yamhill County. This multiple-family fire affected five
    adults.
  52. June 30, at 7:30 p.m., shelter set up at The Dalles Middle
    School, 1100 E. 12th St., The Dalles, OR 97058. Wasco County Emergency
    Management requested that the Red Cross open a shelter due to residents under a
    level three evacuation notice.
