Candle vs. Flashlight — Which One Wins?
In a blackout, would you light a candle or use a flashlight?
Hopefully the answer is simple (if not, bone up right here), but if you’re one of those who just can’t make up their mind and likes candles for OTHER uses (safe ones, of course), you might be interested in yet another well-designed preparedness — sort of — product.
The Castlight by David Weeks is both a traditional-looking candlestick and a battery-powered LED flashlight. It measures 11″ x 4.5″ x 4.5″ and takes 3 AA batteries. Or, uh, a candlestick.
So what do you think? Does this qualify as good prepare-aphernalia? If you set it on your mantle, at least you always know where your flashlight is!

I love it!
Sweet Basil Thai restaurant has fake candles that look pretty real too. I wish I could find them. They’re cylindrical, and you can change their color!
Could they be candelas? I LOVE those and have wanted a set forever (hint, hint).

Yes, exactly! Except the restaurant ones were shorter.
