Your Indoor Edu-tainment For A Hot Day
It’s too hot to go out today so stay inside and watch cartoons! Check out this strangely adorable cartoon called Helpman and The Red Cross Red Crescent Principles.
In addition to the cute factor, it also has the best, simplest version of the Seven Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross that I’ve ever seen:
Humanity ‘We Serve People but not systems’ Impartiality ‘We care for the victims and for the aggressors, alike’ Neutrality ‘We take initiative, but never sides’ Independence ‘We respond to the needs, but not to the kings’ Voluntary Service ‘We work around the clock, but never for personal gain’ Unity ‘We have many talents, but a single idea’ Universality ‘We respect nations, but our work knows no bounds’
Thanks to Claire for forwarding us the cartoon, which came from the soon-to-be Maldivian Red Crescent Society blog. Check it out. For a Red Cross/Red Crescent society that isn’t yet fully formed they’re already doing some great things!

Even my cat enjoyed the first half of the cartoon. I actually had to turn the laptop around for him!
Awesome! Robin and I loved this video. It’s a little long, but really adorable.
